Lisa HorstmanLisa Horstman grew up on a small farm in Ohio with three sisters, one brother, cows, chickens, and assorted pets. She has written and illustrated numerous picture books for children, including The Great Smoky Mountain Salamander Ball, The Toublesome Cub, and Fast Friends, which won the Dr. Seuss Picture Book Award in 1994. Most recently, she illustrated Erin Mirabella's Gracie Goat's Big Bike Race and Steve Kemp's We're Going to the Mountains. The illustrations for Squawking Matilda received a 3x3 Illustration Annual Children's Book Show Merit Award in the unpublished category and were featured in an issue of the magazine.
