A lifelong devotee of opera, she counted Amelita Galli-Curci, Rosa Ponselle, and Maria Callas among her close friends. In 1965, Idaand Louise were awarded the honor of Righteous Among Nations from the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Authority.
