Dorian BorbonusDorian Borbonus is Assistant Professor of History at the University of Dayton, Ohio. He studied classical archaeology at the Freie Universität Berlin, the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, and the University of Pennsylvania, where he obained a Ph.D. in the art and archaeology of the Mediterranean world. His research centers on the topography of Rome, on the development of Roman funerary culture, and on outsiders in Roman society. He is a contributing author of the mapping project Mapping Augustan Rome (JRA Supplement 50) and has published on the methodology of slavery studies and the social history of Roman freedmen.
